Weekly Blog:

"Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Matthew 11:28 NIV

There is a resting place already prepared for the children of God."

So much of the world today is loaded down with burdens. The cares of the world have gripped the hearts of many and the weights they carry are causing defeat in their lives..

This was never the plan of God. If you continue to read the following verses in Matthew !!:29,30 you will get a clearer picture of how Jesus instructed us to live. "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Wherever there is fear, you will find torment. Torment of the mind causes sleepless nights. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. What this scripture means is that we must hear what the Spirit is saying through the Word of God. Do we understand what we are hearing? Fear is our enemy!

As a baby Christian I memorized many scriptures. This is a good thing, however, I did not have a true revelation of what I memorized. I took the time to read the Word, but never truly heard what the Spirit was trying to reveal to me.. I should have taken more time meditating on one scripture at a time, until I got it. Trusting God with an understanding of His Word, brings rest and peace. That's faith!

When I found a scripture that pertained to a situation, I let that scripture roll over and over in my mind (the soulish realm) until I understood it. By doing this I gained a place in the Spirit. As soon as I recieved revelation of the Word, I could apply it to the area I needed help in. If I gain a place in the Spirit then I have a record in my soul reminding me of the victory I have in that area!

For instance I have a revelation of James 4:7 "Submit yourselves unto God, resist the devil and he will flee from you." I used this scripture to quit smoking. I have a revelation that when I submit myself to God He gives me power to resist the temptation to smoke. Authority always aprehends power.

Here is an example. A teenager feels the power of a car when his foot is on the gas pedel. When he sees blue lights of a police car in back of him, he knows to pull over. Why? Because he understands that police officer has the authority to take away his liscence to drive. As Christians Jesus gave us authority over all the power of the enemy. It only works when we submit to God first, the enemy has to flee..

Psalm 25:1,2 "To you O Lord, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.

The battlefield of your soul is conquered by knowing the Word and declaring it over your thoughts. I Peter 5:7 in the NIV "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." Punish fear by pulling negative thoughts down and meditate on the truth of His Word..

DEAR DAUGHTER!
Your question was; "How can I find rest when I cannot sleep at night. I toss and turn all night and my mind is racing with thoughts that are not good. I just want to find peace and rest and be able to wake up feeling refreshed instead of exhausted."

The answer to your question is found here;

Psalm 3:5 meditate on this scripture until you have victory in it. "I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me."

God promised us rest in Hebrews 4:1-3 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it." For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith. Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,;

Picture yourself climbing up on "Daddy God's" lap and rest in HIs loving arms!
